Duran Duran (named after a character in Roger Vadim's sci-fi classic, Barbarella) is an electronic pop-rock band that was part of the new wave music movement in the early 1980s. Created by Nick Rhodes (keyboards) and John Taylor (bass) in Birmingham, UK, 1978, with the later addition of Roger Taylor (drums), Andy Taylor (guitar), and Simon Le Bon (lead vocals), the band has sold more than 100 million records, making them one of the best-selling bands in history. Their songs are vivid, hook-laden pop that have usually fared well on the radio, but what many remember best about Duran Duran is their iconic music videos. Though many of the videos were tongue-in-cheek, the band never quite escaped the glamorous and decadent jet set image their early videos projected. Their first singer and original founding member was Stephen Duffy and the original bassist was Simon Colley. Several drummers and guitarists were subsequently tried, as well as a handful of vocalists after Duffy left Duran Duran early in 1979. Duran Duran performed the title sequence theme for the 1985 James Bond film "A View To A Kill". Like Depeche Mode, Duran Duran was among the earliest bands to work on their own remixes. From the very beginning, the band had a keen sense of style, and worked with stylist Perry Haines and fashion designers such as Kahn & Bell and Antony Price to build a sharp and elegant image, soon growing beyond the ruffles and sashes of the pirate-flavoured new romantic look. Although the group never disbanded, it went through several line-up changes over the years - American guitarist Warren Cuccurullo (formerly of Missing Persons) was also a member of the band from 1989 to 2001, and drummer Sterling Campbell was a member from 1989 to 1991. John Taylor, Roger Taylor and Andy Taylor all returned in 2001 and created a stir among music media and the band's fans. Duran Duran released the first album from the reunited line-up, Astronaut, in 2004, which was in turn followed up by many sold out shows in England, most notably Wembley Arena, where a live DVD of the tour was filmed in 2004/2005. In October of 2006, it was announced on Duran Duran's website that Andy Taylor had left the band. The band's latest album, 'Red Carpet Massacre' was released in November 2007. They performed the album live in New York City on Broadway at the Barrymore Theater, for what was originally scheduled as an unprecedented 10-night run. A stage hand union strike shortened the run by a few nights, but Duran Duran were able to re-schedule the shows elsewhere. They went on to tour the world, ending their successful run in December of 2008. They are also finishing 2008 by releasing a new DVD that documents the making of their now-classic "Rio" album (called "Classic Albums: Rio"), and a book called "Would Someone Please Explain?"- a compilation of questions from the "Ask Katy" area of their popular website.

David Sedaris (born December 26, 1956) is a Grammy Award-nominated American humorist, writer, comedian, bestselling author, and radio contributor. Sedaris was first publicly recognized in 1992 when National Public Radio broadcast his essay "SantaLand Diaries". He published his first collection of essays and short stories, Barrel Fever, in 1994. Each of his five subsequent essay collections, Naked (1997), Holidays on Ice (1997), Me Talk Pretty One Day (2000), Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim (2004), and When You Are Engulfed in Flames (2008), have become New York Times Best Sellers. As of 2008[update], his books have collectively sold seven million copies. Cowboys Stadium is a new domed stadium with a retractable-roof in Arlington, Texas, for the National Football League's Dallas Cowboys. It replaced the open-air Texas Stadium, which opened in 1971, as the Cowboys' home. It was completed on May 29, 2009 and seats 80,000, but expandable to seat up to 100,000. The Cowboys Stadium is the largest domed stadium in the world. Cowboys Stadium was designed by the Dallas-based architectural firm HKS. Besides the Cowboys, the new stadium will be used by college football teams and other organizations for other sporting and non-sporting events. On March 10, 2008, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, joined by officials and coaches from Texas A&M University and the University of Arkansas (Jones' alma mater), announced that the two schools would renew their rivalry with annual games at the stadium, beginning October 3, 2009. In addition, the Cotton Bowl will be moved to the stadium once it opens.

Christopher Jason Witten (born May 6, 1982, in Elizabethton, Tennessee) is an American football player who currently plays as a tight end for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. He played college football at the University of Tennessee. In his first of three years at the University of Tennessee, Witten went from being a defensive end prospect to a record breaking tight end. He posted school records for receptions (39) and receiving yards (493). In 2004, Witten had 87 catches, eleventh most in history by a tight end and a Cowboys team record for the position, and was selected to the Pro Bowl. Witten was also named to his second and third Pro Bowls for his performance in the 2005 and 2006 regular seasons. He was named as an injury replacement for New York Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey for the 2007 Pro Bowl. Witten was named a starter for the 2008 Pro Bowl. At the end of the 2006 NFL season, Witten became just the tenth tight end in NFL history to post three consecutive seasons with at least 60 receptions.

Simon's Cat is an animated cartoon series by the English animator, Simon Tofield. Each episode features a hungry house cat who uses increasingly heavy-handed tactics to get its owner to feed it. The series is animated with the Adobe Flash software. The first film in the series, entitled Cat Man Do, won the "Best Comedy" award at the British Animation Awards 2008. The second film in the series, entitled Let Me In!, won the "Most Outstanding Animation" award at the 7th Animae Caribe, Caribbean Animation Awards Festival. The third film in the series, entitled TV Dinner was shown on BBC2's The Culture Show on 15 July 2008 before being released on YouTube.

On June 24, 2009, Academy Award president Sid Ganis announced at a Beverly Hills press conference that there will be ten Best Picture nominees instead of five at next year's ceremony. The nominees for the 82nd Academy Awards will be announced live on Tuesday February 2, 2010, at 5:38 a.m. PST (13:38 UTC) (8:38 a.m. EST) at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Hollywood, California, by Tom Sherak, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) and a guest announcer.

Arrested Development follows the adventures of the dysfunctional Bluth family after patriarch George Sr. (Jeffrey Tambor, in an Emmy-nominated performance) is hauled off to jail. Responsible son Michael (Jason Bateman) takes over, but even he's no match for his crazy siblings and sharp-tongued mom. Arresdted Development gave the viewers what most shows couldn't, smart comedy that was actually funny. Many obgoing jokes filled the series. A sad loss to cable tv had finally been brought back to IFC. Also a movie is in development. Looking forward to this film. Its rumored that the entire cast will come back.
